Children’s Water Safety Is Your Responsibility

Dear residents and guests of Kurama Rural Municipality!

With the arrival of hot weather, more people spend time near reservoirs, canals, irrigation ditches, and swimming pools. Unfortunately, this period is also associated with an increased risk of water-related accidents.

We would like to remind you that the safety, health, and lives of children primarily depend on the care and responsibility of parents and legal guardians.

⚠️ Remember: water does not forgive mistakes. A tragedy can happen in just a few seconds.

🚫 THE FOLLOWING ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED:

• Leaving children unattended near water, even for a few minutes;
• Allowing minors to visit rivers, reservoirs, canals, or irrigation ditches alone;
• Assigning the supervision of young children to older brothers or sisters;
• Allowing swimming in unsafe, unequipped, or prohibited areas;
• Leaving children who cannot swim without close supervision;
• Allowing dangerous games and activities near water.

✅ Follow These Safety Rules:

• Always keep children under adult supervision;
• Choose only designated and safe swimming areas;
• Regularly explain water safety rules to children;
• Warn children about the dangers of canals, irrigation ditches, and fast-flowing water.

Please remember that every parent is responsible for the safety of their child.
