The Kurama rural area is located in Panfilov District of Chui Region and is distinguished by its geographical position, agricultural profile and multiethnic population.
Geographical Location
The Kurama rural area is part of Panfilov District in Chui Region. Its administrative center is Panfilov village. The rural area was established in 1996.
The total area of the territory is 38,824 hectares. The area is located at an altitude of approximately 650–900 meters above sea level. It borders the Frunze rural area to the west and the Orto-Kaiyndy rural area to the east.

The Kurama rural area consists of four villages. These villages form the basis of the area’s social, economic and demographic structure.
Climate Features
The climate of the area is sharply continental and dry. These natural and climatic conditions influence the development of agriculture, crop cultivation and livestock breeding.

The average air temperature is approximately 13–15°C.
Sunshine Duration
The average annual sunshine duration is 2,500–2,600 hours. On average, there are 227–247 clear and sunny days per year.

As of January 1, 2026, the permanent population of the Kurama rural area is 11,608 people. The number of households is 2,492.
Ethnic Composition of the Population
The Kurama rural area is a multiethnic territory. Kyrgyz, Russians, Tajiks, Uzbeks, Kazakhs and representatives of other nationalities live here. This reflects social harmony and cultural diversity within the area.
