A solemn ceremony marking the reopening of the restored monument to Hero of the Soviet Union Major General Ivan Vasilyevich Panfilov was held in Panfilovskoye village, Chui Region.

The event was attended by representatives of the state authorities of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation, members of the diplomatic corps, local self-government officials, public figures, veterans, students, and local residents.

The restoration project was implemented by the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University with the support of the Panfilov District State Administration, the Central Asia Capital Investment Fund, and the Dubrovin Foundry Workshop. Restoration specialists carried out extensive work to preserve and restore the monument’s historical appearance.

The ceremony began with the official unveiling of the memorial and a flower-laying tribute. Participants honored the memory of those who lost their lives during the Great Patriotic War with a minute of silence. The national anthems of Kyrgyzstan and Russia were performed, along with wartime songs and the famous “Victory Waltz.”

As part of the project, the monument underwent comprehensive restoration, and the surrounding area was significantly improved. Modern lighting systems and public benches were installed, while new sports and children’s playgrounds were created to provide a comfortable environment for local residents and visitors.

The renewed memorial has become a symbol of preserving historical memory, honoring the heroic deeds of the Great Patriotic War veterans, and strengthening the friendly relations between Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
